Money Metrics & Insights

Official User Guide & Walkthrough

The "Local-First" Philosophy

Your privacy is our priority. Unlike many modern web applications, the Money Metrics & Insights suite operates entirely within your browser on your own computer.

  • No Servers, No Accounts: This is a static release. Your financial data is never transmitted to a server, a database, or the cloud.
  • Total Ownership: Your numbers remain on your device, ensuring complete privacy and security while you plan.
  • Educational Purpose: This tool is designed for personal planning, education, and illustration. It is not financial advice.

Quick Start Guide

Getting up and running requires no installation or technical knowledge.

Step 1: Open the Dashboard

Visit mmi.jameswarren.online in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge). No download, no account, no setup required.

Step 2: Start Planning

Use the top navigation menu or the cards on the home page to access the tools. Cash Flow is available to all visitors. Debt Drag and Buffer Builder are included in the full bundle.

Data Privacy & Portability

Money Metrics & Insights is a hosted web tool, but all calculations happen inside your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Browser Drafts

The tool saves a temporary draft inside your browser's local storage. This survives page refreshes on the same device and browser, but will be lost if you clear your history or use Incognito mode.

Permanent Saves (CSV Export)

To securely save your scenario for next time, or to create a permanent backup:

  1. Look for the "Export Data" button within any of the tools.
  2. Save the resulting CSV file (e.g., debt_drag_summary.csv) safely on your computer.
  3. Next time you open the tool, use the "Import" button to reload your data instantly.
