Save for Planned Goals

Stop saving vaguely. Attach every pound of savings to a specific future event.

What it is

Planned-goal saving means giving every savings pound a name and a date: a holiday, a deposit, a car, a wedding. Not adding to a generic pot and hoping it grows into something useful. It turns saving from a virtue into a calculation: target divided by months remaining.

When you need it

Once your cashflow is stable and your buffer is in place. Without those two foundations, savings get raided for irregular costs or bail-outs. With them, the surplus you have identified is genuinely free to move toward a goal.

Why it works

Vague saving stalls because the motivation is diffuse. A named goal with a target date creates pull. You know what you are working toward and when you need it. The number either fits the timeline or it does not. That clarity makes it actionable.
